The mother/daughter relationship can be a complex one. In spite of the love bond, there are times when that bond is tested to the ultimate limit. And, sometimes those tests can last for years. And, unfortunately, in other situations, the love bond just never forms leaving both mother and daughter missing something important. Three amazing women joined me in the Conscious Conversations Café to discuss the complexity of the mother/daughter relationship from their own perspective, and in one case, from the point of view of being a mother to two teenage daughters. As we talked, we realized the similarities we all had experienced as children, teenagers, young women and adults, as well as the differences we had experienced in our relationships with our moms. One thing we all agreed on is that as we mature and evolve, we have the opportunity to resolve many issues, let many of them go, and choose to have a grown-up relationship with our mothers, often for the very first time.
